The five star Hyatt Regency Oubaai at South Africa’s maganificent Garden Route is hosting a solo art exhibition, “LAYERS”, for well known artist Marittie de Villiers.  Having recently hosted the hugely successful “Paint a Future” art launch, Hyatt Regency Oubaai is fast becoming a Mecca for art lovers.

The exhibition showcases Marittie’s new signature pieces.  A percentage of all art sales will be donated to the “Design for Work” project, which falls under the Sikelela Skills Development Centre.  This centre is designed to create employment through teaching people crafts and bringing change to disadvantaged adults and children alike.

“Faces” are a key feature in Marittie’s work as they are an endless source of inspiration and fascination for her.  Her works represent the full spectrum of human emotion.  Painting in an expressionistic style, she uses visible brush strokes and an extensive use of colour to create emotions and energy in her work.  Her artwork can be found at galleries throughout South Africa and will be showcased at Hyatt Regency Oubaai Golf Spa Resort until the 31 March 2012.
