The new purpose-built premises has lot’s of activities for the whole family to enjoy such as:
- Build a house in the Murray & Roberts building site,
- Challenge your mind with puzzling experiments,
- Experience the feeling of weightlessness with a spin on the Human Gyroscope,
- Playing Mindball: a game where you are able to control the ball using your brain waves,
- Hearing science in the Audio Kinetic Sculpture as well as
- Seeing South Africa’s electric car, the Joule, on display
- There is also a great outdoor area where you can learn how The Cape Town Science Centre is harvesting its rainwater to save water as well as enjoy a game of Chess on the Giant Chess set.

Career Planet
Career Planet is an organisation which provides young people with web-based career information, training, study information and advice via their website and workshops, they are also now expanding on their range of services that will allow companies, training providers, government bodies as well as educational institutions which promotes their opportunities direct to the young people. They also have a new mobile platform which provides young people with a cost-effective way to locate relevant and up-to-date career information, employment, educational and self-development opportunities – in their respective areas that they reside.
Kiddiwinks
One of the oldest LEGO shops in South Africa, Kiddiwinks offers activities for all ages, these include building with LEGO as well as robotics training.
SA Teen Entrepreneur
With a vision to cultivate and promote the entrepreneurial spirit in teenagers through seminars, workshops, conferences and exhibitions which will be targeted to high schools, Universities, Churches and Youth Centres.
Soundhouse
Offering a musical multi-media experience in a unique facility which consists of 15 workstations that can accommodate up to thirty participants who have an interest in music using the technology of a computer. With a wide variety of curriculum and interactive based courses on offer, each of the sessions would last about an hour, during of which one-on-one assistance is provided to would-be composers, musicians, sound engineers as well as performers. The programmes and courses on offer are entertaining and fun, there is also a certain amount of educational value and the courses introduce young people to music through technology.
SciCafe
The Cafe provides healthy light meals, snacks and a cup of coffee or drinks for all visitors to The Cape Town Science Centre.
