WINDHOEK COUNTRY CLUB RESORT AND SWAKOPMUND HOTEL & ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE SCOOP PMR ARROW AWARDS

Both The Windhoek Country Club Resort and Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre, recently received awards at the PMR Arrow Awards held in Windhoek.

The Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino and the adjoining golf club were awarded gold and silver certificates in the executive hotels and casinos and entertainment categories respectively. The Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre received a silver arrow award in the category holiday resorts.

According to Tony Boucher, gm of the WCCR, these awards are a culmination of a number of factors including hard work, dedication, loyalty and a great team. “We are proud of these awards, as they prove that hard work and that little bit of extra effort are seen and appreciated by our guests, clients, suppliers and loyal supporters.

Janet Wilson-Moore, Swakopmund’s gm added: “Namibia has an abundance of hotels, resorts and other accommodation. To have been chosen by md’s, ceo’s, company owners and government officials as being the second best holiday resort in Namibia is a great honour for us. We will always continue to ensure that our guests and clients come first – be it holiday makers or conference and event attendees or people enjoying a meal or some entertainment in our casino.”

1. MARCH 2010 OPENING ANNOUNCED FOR DAVINCI HOTEL ON NELSON MANDELA SQUARE

The Legacy Hotel Group has announced that the much anticipated DaVinci hotel on the Nelson Mandela Square will open its doors for business on March 1, 2010.

This luxury hotel, Legacy’s fourth on the prestigious square, will offer guests 166 en-suite rooms, 50 1, 2 and 3 bedroom luxury suites and 4 penthouses to choose from as well as an endless edge heated swimming pool, full business facilities, an à la carte restaurant and delicatessen and a health spa and gym.

The hotel will be located within walking distance of the Sandton Convention Centre and will offer direct access to the DaVinci Mall – 5000m² of retail, entertainment and dining space – Sandton City and Nelson Mandela Square.

The five star Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa, South Africa, has distinguished itself with another top international accolade, this time from Condé Nast Traveller magazine. The awards are viewed as the most prestigious travel distinctions in the world, and the ceremony, which took place at the Royal Institute of Great Britain in London, was attended by the leading players in the travel industry.
