The Festive Season at The Cellars -Hohenort

The Cellars Hohenort Hotel & Spa provides a festive program for its guests.

Christmas Eve 24 December 2008:
Menu priced at R900.00 per head inclusive of 1 Bottle of Wine per Couple and
Champagne on arrival.
Joe Schaffer will provide the Entertainment for the Evening.

Christmas Lunch 25 December 2008:
Menu priced at R900.00 per head inclusive of 1 Bottle of Wine per Couple and
Champagne on arrival.
Joe Schaffer will provide the Entertainment for the Day.

Christmas Day Dinner 25 December 2008:
We will be serving our Marvelous A la Carte Menu along with Christmas Specials.

New Years Eve 31 December 2008:
An evening at the “Emmy Awards”
Menu priced at R1800.00 Inclusive of 2 Bottles of wine per Couple, Champagne, Martini’s
and Canapés on arrival.
Joe Schaffer will kick off the Festivities at 21h00 and end it off at 01h00.

Christmas Eve 24 December 2008 – The Cape Malay:
Menu priced at R450.00 per head Inclusive of Champagne on arrival

Christmas Dinner 25 December 2008 – The Cape Malay:
The Cape Malay Restaurant will be open for Christmas Dinner and serving the Set menu
of the week at ZAR 200.00 per person.

New Years Eve 31 December 2008 – The Cape Malay:
The Cape Malay will be serving the Set menu of the week at the Menu price of R200.00.

The Marine Hotel, Hermanus SOUTH AFRICA

The Pavilion Restaurant at the The Marine in Hermanus has been transformed from a quiet, graceful breakfast room into a glamorous, edgy restaurant that encompasses the beautiful views over Walker Bay. This transformation was achieved by Hotcocoa Interiors and Design, the team of Dawn Dickerson, Carmel Naude and David Misplon.”The concept came to me quite suddenly, standing in the restaurant wondering where to start.

Liz McGrath had planted several palm trees in pots in the corridors of the hotel – and it just flashed up! Images of the palm court lounges of the 1920′s and 1930′s. This was the perfect concept from which to work – 20′s glamour given a modern interpretation. The space would be able to handle the glamour so perfectly” says Dawn Dickerson of Hotcocoa Interiors.

Diners Club highly coveted Winelist Awards have benefited both the consumers and the establishments they award, and are highly regarded in the wine industry.

Diners Club has played a critical role in maintaining and improving the standards of this award since its inception in the 1980s.Two new categories were introduced this year – the best wine steward award/sommelier and national award for the Best Restaurant Wine list.

The Cellars-Hohenort is the first recipient of The Best Wine list in South Africa Award. The Plettenberg and The Cellars-Hohenort were also given Diamond awards for their wine lists. “I am very proud to have received the awards. Our wine list is something special at The Cellars-Hohenort and truly representative of the incredible wines we have in the Cape” says Miguel Chan, Sommelier at The Cellars-Hohenort. Miguel is responsible for the magnificent wine cellar at The Cellars-Hohenort, Hotel which boasts one of South Africa’s finest selection of Cape wines, as well as a world’s benchmark, with 9000 bottles totalling 520 bins with vintages spanning from 1975 to 2008, without forgetting some of the complete collections of the legendary wines of Constantia Valley, the birthplace of the South African wine industry, 366 years ago.We are the only hotel in the world to boast the complete mythical collection of the famed Vin de Constance, from 1986 made by Klein Constantia Estate.
