ARABELLA SPA RAINS SUPREME WITH A WORLD FIRST
The Arabella South Africa's Western Cape Hotel and Spa has just unveiled The African Rainforest Experience - a world first treatment developed in South Africa using African products and inspired by African rains.
It forms the centrepiece of the recently completed, R7.5 million refurbishment of the luxury resort, the lion's share of which was spent upgrading the spa facility - which is already listed as one of the hundred best luxury spa destinations in the world.
The concept was developed by Arabella specifically to create something of Africa, for Africa. South African interior designer, Yvonne Smuts - who also worked on the award-winning designs for the ArabellaSheraton Grand Hotel in Cape Town - helped bring the vision to life.
The African Rainforest Experience combines the mystique of free-flowing water, evolving mist and the variety of African colours and fragrances making it a treatment that stimulates all the senses. The result is a 15-step experience comprising therapeutic showers, scrubs and steam treatments. All the consumables and fragrances are locally sourced from the Stellenbosch-produced beauty range, TheraVINE. These will also be used at the group's other spa.
The refurbishment of the Spa also included an upgrade of all treatment rooms and communal areas. A number of new international signature treatments have also been introduced including Balinese massage, Lomi Lomi (Hawaiian massage) and acupressure.
