Upon entering the Rasul Chamber, one is greeted by a tray of mineralized earth and sea muds. Reclining in the comfort of the Rasul, a gentle fragrant mist envelopes the body while being lulled by soothing sounds of music. Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa, Cape Town in South Africa

RENOVATIONS at the Twelve Apostles Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa

The Leopard Lounge refurbishment at the Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa in Cape Town ( South Africa) , which will start in July 2007, will include a newly appointed wood-paneled bar, soft furnishings, fabrics and wallpaper, with a stunning effect of chic and stylish contemporary design and décor.

The adjacent Cloakrooms will also be upgraded and renovated . During the closure, a temporary Bar will be set up in The Café and The Leopard Room Bar and Lounge will reopen on 31 July 2007.

Azure Restaurant will also undergo a soft refurbishment in August 2007, enhancing the stylish and comfortable interior while capitalizing on the views of the shimmering seas and stunning sunsets. During the refurbishment, Azure Restaurant will be closed for breakfast and lunch for 10 days. The dates will be confirmed shortly and communicated to you accordingly.

The hotel has also identified rooms that will undergo a soft refurbishment in September. They will also be increasing the number of interleading rooms available to accommodate families over the next few months.

While it is anticipated that there will be occasional and isolated noise, the staff at the Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa will be on-hand to manage and ensure that there is very little inconvenience to guests or patrons of the Hotel.

Guests will also be accommodated in rooms well away from any planned renovations. The working hours will be between 0900 and 1600.

The award-winning Sanctuary Spa will be closed for a week, from 16 – 22 July 2007 inclusive for a soft refurbishment. The hotel apologises for the inconvenience however the closure is required to maintain the pristine conditions and service standards that come with being one of only two Leading Spas in South Africa. Hotel guests can still have certain treatments in their rooms during the scheduled closure. A list of treatments is available on request.

Please note that the Sanctuary Spa will be closed for annual maintenance from 16-22 July 2007 inclusive.

The Premier Restaurant, Western Cape Hotel & Spa

Voted one of the Top 100 Restaurants by Diners Club & played host to members the Chaine des Rotisseurs at the Western Cape Hotel & Spa. Specially selected to participate in the American Express Platinum Fine Dining Programme for 2006. Situated on the mezzanine floor of the hotel, overlooking the majestic Botrivier Lagoon with its spectacular sunsets, Premiere offers an intimate venue for the ultimate in elegant yet relaxed fine dining. Our chef use only the freshest ingredients available to design their menus. The dress code is smart elegant, where gentlemen are requested to wear collared shirts and trousers. While a jacket and tie is not necessary, we do request that no jeans, sneakers or trainers be worn. Only children over the age of 12 may join us in Premiere if accompanied by an adult.

No infants allowed – babysitting arrangements could be made on request given 24 hours notice. Please note that Premier does not have a children’s menu. All parties of 8 or more are requested to select a set menu. The Premiere is open for dinner from October through to April , from Tuesday to Saturday (closed on Sunday and Monday), from 19h00, with last orders placed by 22h00. Capacity – A non-smoking and an enclosed smoking area is available, providing seating for up to 48 people.

Premiere Club: For the discerning diner wishing to experience the elegance and excellence of Premiere in a private venue, the Premiere Club is available for groups up to 14 People, and boasts the same views and styles as the Premier with the addition of direct access onto a balcony overlooking the lagoon.

KIDS CLUB AT THE WESTERN CAPE HOTEL & SPA

Please allow me to share with you the fun and exciting activities we have for you, our younger guests, ages 5-12 staying at the Western Cape Hotel & Spa! At the Lil Capers at Balou’s from 09:00-17:00 on Saturdays and Sundays, we have DVD’s and a PlayStation 2, books, arts & crafts activities, board games, puzzles, Lego’s, a great Jungle Gym and so much more! We also offer a special Kidz Night Out program on Friday and Saturday evenings from 18:00-22:00. We have dinner together, watch movies and always make new friends. To make reservations, get mom or dad to contact the Kids Club from your guest room by dialing Reception at ext. 89. For the tiny tots under the age of 5 who are too little to play at Lil Capers at Balou’s on their own, we have a solution! A Western Cape Hotel & Spa Baby-Sitter can entertain the little ones in the comfort of Mom & Dad’s guest room or accompany them to Balou’s to join in the fun and games! With the unprecedented demand from Hotel guests for treatments, we strongly recommend that you pre-book your treatments in order to avoid disappointment.

No child under 18 years of age is allowed to use the public areas of the Spa. Children aged 12 and older are only permitted in the Hydro Pool under strict supervision of a parent. Silence is appreciated, as this is an area of relaxation. Children under 18 years of age will be accepted for manicure and pedicure treatments only if consent is given by a parent / guardian. Cancellations made at least twenty-four hours prior to a treatment will not be charged for.

Children times in the spa
Children will be allowed in the hydro pool between the following times: 08h00-10h00am and 14h00-17h00pm.
Age policy:
1. Children under 12 years have to be accompanied by their parents and will not be allowed to use the hydro pool on their own. A Parental consent form needs to be signed.
2. Children over 12 will be allowed without supervision, but a parent or guardian has to sign a parental consent form protecting us from being held liable.
3. No children under 18years will be allowed in the Rain Forest, as it is an optional nudity area, and also extremely detoxifying.
4. No children under 18years will be allowed to have spa treatments.

GOLF at Arabella Western Cape Hotel South Africa

ARABELLA GOLF COURSE at the Western Cape Hotel & Spa:

Golf Digest award for best new golf course 1999 and no 2 in S.A. 2005. Five Star Service Award by Complete Golfer. Matkovich and Hayes design. The course is 6,095 meters in length and has a rating of 72. The course borders the largest natural lagoon in Southern Africa, and the 18th runs parallel to the lagoon. The clubhouse at the Western Cape Hotel & Spa is considered to be one of the most luxurious and modern in the country. At this stage selecting a signature hole is an almost impossible task – take your pick, there are so many possibilities, however the 17th par three rates as one of the all-time best holes and as one of the best par three’s ever. When making a golf reservation, please advise tee off time, how many carts and caddies you require as these need to be pre-booked in order to be guaranteed. Note that we require every golfer to have an official handicap and membership cards must be brought on the day of play. It is a soft spike only course and the dress code for the clubhouse is golf wear or smart casual. The golf club reserves the right to join players if necessary.

ARABELLA SPA RAINS SUPREME WITH A WORLD FIRST

The Arabella South Africa’s Western Cape Hotel and Spa has just unveiled The African Rainforest Experience – a world first treatment developed in South Africa using African products and inspired by African rains.

It forms the centre piece of the recently completed, R7.5 million refurbishment of the luxury resort, the lion’s share of which was spent upgrading the spa facility – which is already listed as one of the hundred best luxury spa destinations in the world.

The concept was developed by Arabella specifically to create something of Africa, for Africa. South African interior designer, Yvonne Smuts – who also worked on the award-winning designs for the Arabella Sheraton Grand Hotel in Cape Town – helped bring the vision to life.

The African Rainforest Experience combines the mystique of free-flowing water, evolving mist and the variety of African colours and fragrances making it a treatment that stimulates all the senses. The result is a 15-step experience comprising therapeutic showers, scrubs and steam treatments. All the consumables and fragrances are locally sourced from the Stellenbosch-produced beauty range, TheraVINE. These will also be used at the group’s other spa.

The refurbishment of the Spa also included an upgrade of all treatment rooms and communal areas. A number of new international signature treatments have also been introduced including Balinese massage, Lomi Lomi (Hawaiian massage) and acupressure.

Westcliff Hotel, Johannesburg SOUTH AFRICA

We would like to inform you that The Westcliff’s main heated swimming pool, located in front of the Polo Lounge, will be closed for routine maintenance from 18-29 June 2007.

The quietest and coldest 10 day period of the year has been chosen to allow for as little disruption as possible.

During this time, guests staying at the Westcliff Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa, are welcome to make use of the heated swimming pool located below the hotel’s business wing.
