THE LOST CITY GOLF COURSE (Sun City)
This Gary Player designed championship golf course offers a championship level of challenge par none.
This dramatic golf course is carved out of the wild African bush. It hosts various water hazards, none more famous than the crocodile hole at the par 3, 13th hole. 18 holes, par-72, length varies considerably depending on which tees are used. The course opened in 1993 and is a product of the Gary Player Design Company. There are undulating bayview grass fairways and large bent grass greens.
There are also many waste bunkers and several water hazards with magnificent views of the Pilanesberg and African Bushveld, as well as the famous Palace Hotel situated next to the course. This Gary Player designed course offers a championship level of challenge par none.

GARY PLAYER COUNTRY CLUB (Sun City)
This course is the premier golf course and a draw card feature of the lavish Sun City casino, hotel and leisure complex.
South Africa’s famous sportsman designed and gave his name to this superb modern resort course, whose fame has been spread worldwide by the Nedbank Golf Challenge. This course is the premier golf course and a draw card feature of the lavish Sun City casino, hotel and leisure complex. Everything about this facility breathes quality, not least the state-of-the art clubhouse, redesigned and renovated in the latter part of 2000.
The course is usually immaculately presented, the kikuyu fairways and bent grass greens contrasting with the more barren thorn-scrub and aloe-covered hillsides through which the big layout meanders. The putting surfaces are fast, firm and perfect, and their ‘clover-leaf’ patterning allows for a variety of elusive pin positions. The course has many sets of tees and can be enjoyed by players of very different abilities. The fairways are in the main generally wide, but are bordered by untended African bushveld; this and the tricky greens constitute the course’s main defences. Water comes into play on five holes, most famously on the par-five 9th with its island green which is surrounded by waterfalls and artificial rocks.

Cycle races – entries streaming in
Entries are streaming in for the country’s largest cycle races, even though most of the races started accepting applications for entries much earlier than in previous years.
Organisers said that people should submit their applications as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

The Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour organisers have been accepting applications for race entries even though the race is only next year, while the Pick ‘n Pay 94.7 Cycle Challenge and the Pick ‘n Pay Amashovashova National Classic have been accepting entries for a while.
Click here to apply online for an entry into the Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour.

Should be looking for hotel accommodation in Cape Town over the duration of the Cape Argus race we would have sea view rooms reservaed for cyclists at the The Ambassador Hotel in Bantry or contact us to book at one of the many hotels in Cape Town.
