Scenic Helicopter Flights KwaZulu-Natal Overview
These unique and memorable Durban helicopter flights can be done from Virginia Airport near Durban with options over the magnificent Valley of 1000 Hills or along the spectacular Durban coastline. The helicopter ride will be tailored to your requirements.
Depending on your requirements we will use either a Jetranger helicopter which takes four passengers or a Robinson 44 helicopter which carries three passengers. For larger groups of up to 6 passengers, we can offer the Longranger Helicopter. The flying time will depend on the location.
Depart Virginia Airport, fly coastal toward Umhlanga Lagoon, then inland overhead Sibaya, then onto Hazelmere dam where we will join the Umdhloti River for some exciting low level flying over the meandering river and through tall cliffs. We then fly through the valley of 1000 Hills towards the Inanda Dam.
- Tour 5: The River Run Picnic Flight (Stopover tour)
An exciting fast and often low-level flight above a meandering river with tall cliffs on either side. The trip starts at Virginia and tracks seawards of the coastline to Umdloti river mouth onto Hazelmere dam before the river run. We then climb up for breathtaking views of a Valley of a thousand hills and skim over Inanda dam and down the Umgeni River back to the coast.
Next, it is Durban’s Golden Mile and the harbour entrance before heading back to Virginia. This flight is also an opportunity to see rural life from the air. Land on a mountaintop overlooking the dam for a prepared picnic lunch and refreshments all included. All this in just under an hour. ± 60 mins
