Scenic Helicopter Adventure Flights Mpumalanga Overview

Panorama Helicopter adventures over the spectacular and scenic Mpumalanga Lowveld are undoubtedly the only way to embrace the beauty and capture the splendour of this region of South Africa.

The Mpumalanga Helicopter Company is based in the beautiful Mpumalanga Lowveld of South Africa with its office being in Hazyview, and most flights take place from the surrounding lodges and Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve.

1.) CASCADES Helicopter Tour, Mpumalanga (South Africa)

Departing from Hippo Hollow in Hazyview, we follow the Sabi River Valley along the edge of the Escarpment, to where the first state-owned timber plantations in the region were planted on the farm Graskop in 1905. We’ll fly over the 30-metre-high Pinnacle, a weathered column of free-standing sandstone rising above the tangle of indigenous forest. Have your camera ready for spectacular photographic opportunities as we linger above the breathtaking Lisbon falls, which tumble in four cascades down a 92-metre-high cliff into a large, beautiful and icy cold pool.

Witness the Berlin falls and see how water is forced through a narrow gap before tumbling in a single feathery cascade. Be transported back in time while observing the 64-metre high Mac Mac Falls, which was split into two splendid streams before plunging into the forested gorge below by miners who placed dynamite on the crest of the Mac-Mac Falls during the gold rush era. God’s Window will be our next experience; here you will be treated to one of the most beautiful views of the beautiful Mpumalanga Lowveld before landing back at Hippo Hollow.

Duration of excursion: 45 min

2.) CASCADES & CANYON DELIGHT Helicopter Tour, Mpumalanga (South Africa)

Departing from Hippo Hollow in Hazyview, we follow the Sabi River Valley. This is an exhilarating flight that swoops over deep and mysterious gorges, through lush valleys bursting with vegetation and colour. We will linger above roaring rivers and cascading waterfalls, allowing for spectacular photographic opportunities. The flight will continue along the slope to God’s Window, which offers fantastic panoramic views of the bushveld below and on to the fascinating and dramatic rock formations of the Blyde River Canyon, (the third deepest and greenest Canyon in the World).

Duration of excursion: 1 hour

3. ) CASCADES & CANYON SPECTACULAR Helicopter Tour, Mpumalanga (South Africa)

We collect passengers from any of the lodges in the Hazyview area (provided the lodge has a helipad), the Sabi Sand and Timbavati area. From the Sabi Sand / Timbavati area, there are two scheduled flights per day, although departure times can be flexible so as not to interfere with safari drive times.
