Chobe Game Safari Day Tour (Botswana) Overview

The Chobe National Park in Botswana is only a 1¾ hour drive from Livingstone, Zambia. The Chobe National Park in Botswana is one of the most significant game reserves in Southern Africa and is home to the largest elephant population in the world.

The Chobe River flows lazily through the Caprivi floodplains and provides a haven for vast herds of buffalo and elephant, zebra, wildebeest and impala which are followed closely by predators including lion, hyena, the elusive leopard and the odd pack of the now-rare wild dog. The birdlife, in particular, is exceptional.

Travelling to Chobe National Park includes a new crossing boat of the Zambezi River at the convergence of four African countries: Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia.

This Chobe safari starts with a morning wildlife viewing cruise on the Chobe River with tea, coffee, drinks and light snacks served on board. Large flocks of birds, thunders of hippos and enormous crocodiles are in abundance. After disembarking, lunch is served at Chobe Safari Lodge which overlooks the Chobe River and the plains beyond. In the afternoon, open safari vehicles are used for a safari drive into the park.

The safari drive meanders its way back to Customs & Immigration, before crossing the Zambezi River and then transferring to Livingstone.

The Chobe Safari Day Trips begin at the Victoria Falls Day Activity Centre at 07h30 with guests returning to the hotel by about 18h30.
